LIFE: A USER'S MANUAL (2011)
Life: A User's Manual is Georges Perec’s most famous novel. He takes the reader through 99 rooms of an apartment building, following a knight’s move in chess. The novel was inspired by the ideas of Oulipo, a group of French poets. It was written according to a complex plan of writing constraints. Topic of my master thesis was the adaption of these literary techniques for a visual annotation. I mainly focused on the description of image representations within the novel and illustrated these in four steps with the technique of papercraft.
